Born in Macon County, North Carolina, Boathouse Entertainment co-founder John Duncan cut his teeth playing fiddle at jams and concert venues across Western North Carolina. Since then, he has traveled the world playing with a list of acclaimed musicians that includes Jake Eddy, Kristy Cox, Aubrey Eisenman and the Clydes and many others.
John is currently touring regionally in support of his debut solo album, “Asheville Fiddler,” drawing on a wealth of talented supporting musicians from the Asheville and Western NC music scenes. Don’t miss your chance to catch him live!
Boathouse Entertainment co-founder Carter Giegerich is a graduate of the East Tennessee State University Bluegrass, Old-time and Country Music program, where he developed a love for the blending of musical tradition and innovation. That passion has evolved into a unique musical style that blends contemporary and traditional sounds, drawing inspiration from bluegrass, old-time and Celtic music as well as funk, hip-hop and electronic artists.
Carter has performed and recorded extensively as a guest artist with groups like the Dirty Grass Players and the Jackson Grimm Band as well as in his own bands, Ol’ Dirty Bathtub and the High Mountain Pals.
Jackson Grimm has established himself as a prominent player in the Asheville music scene as a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, touring with his own band and working as a sideman for artists like Hannah Kaminer, Old Sap and Nathan Evans Fox. Grimm’s music marries folk pop melodies with the lonesome sound of traditional Appalachian music in an eclectic mix of acoustic styles and sounds.
Grimm is currently touring regionally promoting his most recent album, “Sober Again,” produced by Western North Carolina’s own Grammy-nominated acoustic wiz, Josh Goforth.
Ol’ Dirty Bathtub is Western North Carolina’s premiere acoustic party band, taking the sounds of traditional bluegrass and turning them completely inside out. Part psychedelic jam band, part Appalachian string band, Ol’ Dirty Bathtub is like a pair of tie-dyed overalls that fit just right.
Ol’ Dirty Bathtub has performed at the Lake Eden Arts Festival, the Canton, North Carolina Labor Day celebration, the annual Greening Up the Mountains festival in Sylva, North Carolina and countless other venues throughout the seven westernmost counties in North Carolina.
